Waiting for the Show - Darling you ARE the Show!
Lisa Carroll | 2026
Acrylic on canvas
20 × 16 inches
Lisa’s Ladies series
A golden-yellow woman reclines on a pink cloud beneath a vivid blue sky. Her dark hair spills behind her, while smaller pink clouds float above and below. Bold outlines and simplified curves give this horizontal painting a playful sense of ease.
Part of my ongoing Lisa’s Ladies series, Waiting for the Show imagines a pause with nothing to do but settle in and see what happens next. There’s humor in her exaggerated shape and a little freedom in her unhurried pose. Sometimes the best seat in the house is a cloud of your own.
