The Ladies
Lisa Carroll | 2026
Acrylic on canvas
11 × 14 inches
Lisa’s Ladies series
Two women share the canvas, each with her own posture, expression, and presence. Painted in black, white, and gray against a soft blush background, their exaggerated curves and loose brushwork give this intimate figurative painting a playful, sculptural feel.
Part of my ongoing Lisa’s Ladies series, The Ladies celebrates the imperfect beauty of being ourselves. There is tenderness and humor in these figures, along with space for the viewer to imagine their relationship and the conversation between them.
